I recently had the pleasure of an in-home newborn photoshoot in a beautiful house in Chorlton. The weather recently has been absolutely lovely, walking around Chorlton I could feel spring on its way! The blossom trees were blooming and there was a fresh sense of newness in the air. What better way to celebrate the newness of spring than by welcoming baby Rafe with a gorgeous newborn photoshoot?

This was one of my favourite lifestyle newborn photoshoots to date. It was relaxed and calm as baby Rafe slept peacefully (and pooped and fed and slept) in the gorgeous morning light.

I am often told, "don't work with children or animals' and I completely understand why. However, baby Rafe and big fluffy cat Finn made this session such a breeze I couldn't be happier with the results of this newborn photoshoot.

From the moment I arrived, I could tell this newborn session was going to be special. Baby Rafe was so content, soaking up all of the love and snuggles from his parents. They weren't sure if big fluffy cat Finn would want to take part in the newborn photoshoot, but he was so intrigued with what was going on he couldn't resist getting involved. This gave us lots of opportunities to capture these future best friends together.

We spent time capturing a few of my favourite baby setups as well as all of the beautiful, candid, in-between moments. From the tiny fingers holding Mum's hand, to the gentle, reassuring whispers from Dad, it made for a gorgeous variety of photos that the parents absolutely loved. Nothing was rushed or forced. Just love, warmth and real moments.

After the newborn session, I couldn't help but take a stroll through Beech Road, my favourite spot in Chorlton. The independent shops, the relaxed vibe, and the sense of community here always inspire me. I stopped by a local café The Laundrette for the best brunch, then wandered through Chorlton Park, thinking about how lucky I am to document these early days for families in such a beautiful area.

There’s something so special about Chorlton in-home newborn photoshoots. It’s not just about the baby photos, but about capturing a sense of place, time, and emotion.
